May 2004 Archives

I’m nearly done with my final paper, which will polish off my schooling for this semester. I’ve had to delay due to my move and a network problem with Moody last Saturday. When school is out of the way, I’ll better be able to really concentrate on finishing moving in and organizing everything (and getting the darn air-conditioner working upstairs in my room). I should get A’s for both courses (praise the Lord for that, they’ve had some tough aspects).

I got my power cable for my keyboard in (thanks, Dad!), and I’d like to start recording some songs for a possible upcoming album. It’ll be totally amateur, and it won’t be great quality, but enough of my friends have requested I make one that I think it’d be good to put the time into something like that.

So, onward and upward. I really want to resume regular updates here, and as soon as school is finished that ought to be a reality.

I’m writing this on Tuesday, May 11th, and I’m waiting for the cable company to come out tomorrow to get me hooked up to the internet. I figure it wouldn’t hurt to have an update already prepared.

The moving in has gone without a hitch for the most part. No big surprises, no car trouble (praise the Lord), and I think I got everything I needed without forgetting anything important. Now it’s just a matter of unloading a few more boxes, getting a bed frame, and doing a ton of laundry, as I tossed most of my clothes in trash bags so as to make sure everything could fit in my car.

Thus far my housemate, Nathaniel, and I have done pretty well so far. Last night, we went to Wal-Mart, bought some beef, and had an incredible steak dinner with rice and other amenities.

Mom is staying town to help Jen and Tim continue to move in to their house. It was a mess over there, but if I know my mom she’ll have it all set by the time she leaves this weekend.

Random Reccomendation: The Crest Spinbrush Pro ($6.50 at Wal-Mart). It’s a cheap little toothbrush that my dentist recommended me before I left, and I have to say I really like it. Replaceable heads only cost $6 for two, and you have to buy around two a year. It runs on two AA batteries. How’s that for a really random thing to say?

I want to explore something I’ve been reading in my Bible, namely 1 Samuel. I was intrigued by 1 Samuel 2:25. I’ll try that once I get a connection up and say “hey” to some of you on AIM. I’ll also get some pictures up soon and will be accepting recommendations for colors with which to paint my room, as the paint job is a leftover from the late 80’s / early ‘90’s party look. You know, white paint background with blue, red, green, and yellow thin splotches over it. Anyway, off with me. :o)

Moving is a pain.

I’m moving to Waterloo, IA on Friday. Plus, my sister got married a week and a half ago. Hence, updating has sort of dropped off the face of the planet.

Oh well. I’m sure when I get settled in things will return to normal and I’ll be trying to update on a regular basis, on a consistent schedule. I’ve also been working on a possible redesign of the site

So, don’t stop checking. :o) I’ll be back at full steam in about a week or so.
