Risk-Taking Love

Coming sometime in the future will be an entry about a radical shift in my thinking I am calling “risk-taking love.” It is inspired from a blog entry and several essays that have caused me to think about the essence of love for others. My blog has been very big on love for God; I hope that it may overflow into love for people that is genuine and Christlike.

No ETA for this entry, and until I finish the entry I will not likely be updating the site at all. God bless you until then.

I am no one special. Just a common man with common thoughts. I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect, I’ve succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul, and for me, that has always been enough.

Hey, Rob, I am looking forward to reading what you have to say about this. I came across the essays by Robin Phillips several months ago and they were such an encouragement, especially as God had been moving in my heart in that area for quite awhile. I thank God for Phillips' digging in the scriptures to bring light to it's true meaning. I'm always excited to hear of others who have learned the same thing about God's delight in romance.

Love the quote, by the way, and I'm very excited about the wonderful person God has given you. I look forward to hearing more about it!

Hey Rob -
My sister put me on to your site...someone told her about it...You are right! Been there, done that with the courtship thing....why not be real people and have real friends. Wouldn't you say it likely takes more faith to step out in faith than it does to keep waiting at home for God's ONE?
If you haven't seen the movie Shadowlands, you should see it! It is really about the risk-taking love thing you are talking about. I would say the movie pretty much changed my life - and that is really something to say about a Hollywood movie of C.S. Lewis' life. If you haven't seen it, get it and watch it - maybe with a certain special person.
And do let us know who she is, eh?
God bless you - Truly

Rob, how did you find my blog? I am honored to hear that it had a hand in inspiring your thinking. Of course I can't take credit for my ideas either. Robin and CS Lewis are the ones I thank, and God of course. I look forward to your entry and hearing more about your awesome friend. ;)
