Guest Service Team Leader

Great news, I got a raise and a new position at Target. I am changing from Photo Lab Specialist, which I’ve been since August ‘05, to Guest Service Team Leader (GSTL, as we call ‘em in the biz). Target lingo confuses me a bit as to whether this position is considered an assistant manager position or an über supervisor.

On Sunday, my human resources executive pulled me into her office and asked if I was had signed up for the team leader interviews that week. I was unaware of them, so after talking it over and praying about it, I agreed on Monday to try it out. Yesterday, I went to our local district store and interviewed. I felt confident about it and that God had really blessed my past experiences with Target as I had a good pool of experiences to draw from.

Normally, it takes a few days to hear back on these things. I got my results today and not only am I signed off to be a team leader, but my store is ready to put me into the GSTL position in mid-March. I will be responsible for all of the cashiers, Food Ave., Guest Service, and the photo lab.

I am praying right now for more good experiences, as I plan on trying for an executive position by the time Rosanna and I get married in September. We’ll take a leave of absence for our honeymoon and relocating, then transfer to a Target in Minneapolis, either as an executive (manager) or a team lead over a different department with plans on going executive by early 2007.

We’ll get started with The Bethlehem Institute in September 2007, if the Lord is gracious to me in opening the door for it.

Anyway, just news and stuff. Yay!

Thanks a lot, Jenni! It's sometimes been a bit maddening, but I really believe God is blessing me in my career and using me to bless others along the way.

Funny you should use "tenacity," because Rosanna pulled that one out of the Vault of Antiquity™ just the other day. Must mean *something*.
